The system automatically enforces three special prescribing rules. This page explains each one.
For Schedule 2 and 3 Controlled Drugs (e.g. Morphine, Diazepam, Temazepam), the Misuse of Drugs Regulations require the quantity to be written in both words AND figures.
The system automatically converts the numeric quantity to words when a CD Schedule medication is prescribed:

A red warning banner is displayed on the prescription detail page.

If the patient is under 12 years old, the system auto-calculates their exact age and displays it prominently on the prescription:

A blue information box is shown on the prescription detail page reminding the prescriber to verify the dose is age-appropriate.
